The Coolerworx Carbon Pro Shorty 330 mm Short Shifter is a performance-focused shifting system developed for a wide range of BMW models equipped with a manual gearbox. Its chassis-mounted design provides a rigid and direct connection to the transmission, while reducing shift throw by up to 40% compared with the factory mechanism.
The 330 mm shift lever offers a balanced setup for both road and track use. Its extended position brings the knob closer to the steering wheel, reducing hand movement during fast gear changes while still maintaining good everyday usability.
An integrated self-centering spring keeps the lever consistently aligned in the central position, even during hard braking, aggressive cornering and high lateral loads. This provides predictable shifting feedback and helps the driver engage the correct gear gate more confidently during dynamic driving.
The shifter is equipped with an adjustable gear lock-out system for Reverse, 1/2 and 5/6. Screw-type stops allow precise adjustment of the mechanism, while a cable-operated pull-up collar provides smooth release when required. The system helps reduce the risk of accidental gear selection during fast road, track or motorsport use.
Installation is designed to require minimal or no modification. The shifter can be used with BMW manual gearboxes and is compatible with OEM linkage as well as original engine and transmission mounts. Dedicated direct-fit kits are also available for selected BMW chassis.
The main components are CNC-machined from 7075 aircraft-grade aluminium, while the base plate is manufactured from 304 stainless steel. This combination provides the rigidity, durability and reliability required for demanding performance applications.
Coolerworx shifters are developed in-house, CNC-machined and hand-assembled in Europe, with the design tested in demanding racing conditions.
