The Coolerworx NSB Short Shifter for Toyota Celica GT-Four ST205 is a vehicle-specific performance shifting system developed for one of Toyota’s most iconic AWD models. This version features a raw aluminium look and is supplied with reverse lockout, combining precise mechanical operation with a clean, technical appearance.
The shifter is designed as a plug-and-play direct-fit solution for the standard interior. Installation does not require cutting or welding, allowing the mechanism to be fitted as a bolt-on upgrade while retaining the original cabin layout.
The system provides short and direct gear engagement and is designed to create a more precise, mechanical shifting feel than the factory setup. The chassis-mounted construction improves rigidity, while the integrated self-centering spring helps guide the lever toward the central position for more consistent gear selection.
This version is equipped with a reverse lockout mechanism, helping reduce the risk of accidental reverse selection during dynamic driving. The shifter also supports custom gear knobs, allowing the cockpit setup to be further personalized.
Development was carried out specifically around the Toyota Celica GT-Four ST205. Coolerworx performed a complete 3D scan of the vehicle interior to accurately define the available space and create a solution with proper fitment beneath the factory trim.
Because many Celica GT-Four ST205 cars are now decades old, wear in the original shifting system can significantly affect precision. The factory control cables use rubber inserts that may soften, crack and develop play over time. Coolerworx therefore also developed a dedicated Cable and Selector Rebuild Kit, replacing worn rubber inserts with solid aluminium components to reduce unwanted movement and improve mechanical feedback.
The shifter uses a longer handle than the OEM version, helping make gear changes quicker and easier to reach. Together with the centering spring and rigid construction, this creates a more confident and defined shifting experience.
