The Coolerworx Bottom Mount Classic Pro Short Shifter for VW Golf GTI/R MK7 and MK7.5 is a performance-oriented shifting system developed to provide shorter, more direct and more precise gear changes than the factory mechanism. Its bottom-mount construction is designed for straightforward installation and a more rigid mechanical connection.

The shifter reduces shift throw by up to 40%, resulting in faster gear engagement and a sharper mechanical feel. This creates a more engaging driving experience during spirited road use, track driving and motorsport applications.

The PRO version features an integrated self-centering spring, which keeps the lever reliably positioned in the center even during hard braking and fast cornering. This helps maintain consistent shifting feedback and improves precision during rapid gear changes.

The mechanism also includes an adjustable gear lock-out system for Reverse, 1/2 and 5/6. Screw-type stops allow precise adjustment, while a cable-operated pull-up collar releases the lock-out when required. This helps reduce the risk of accidentally selecting the wrong gear during demanding driving.

The main components are manufactured from 7075 aircraft-grade aluminium, while the base plate is made from 304 stainless steel. This material combination provides the rigidity, durability and reliability required for demanding road and motorsport use.

The shifter is developed in-house, CNC-machined and hand-assembled in Europe. Its design is tested by racing drivers under demanding conditions.
