The Coolerworx Top Mount Naked Pro Short Shifter for VW / Audi / Skoda / Seat with 02J, 02M or 02Q gearbox is a motorsport-oriented shifting system combining the raw, exposed design of the Naked series with the performance features of the PRO range. Its CNC-machined aluminium construction is intentionally left visible, giving the mechanism a functional and competition-inspired appearance.
Because this is a top-mount version, the gearshift cables must be rerouted so that they run inside the vehicle. This configuration is particularly useful for gearbox conversions, for example when installing an 02M gearbox in a VW Golf II, as well as for race cars or stripped-interior builds where a top-mounted shifter is preferred.
The mechanism reduces shift throw by up to 40%, providing shorter, sharper and more direct gear changes. This results in clearer mechanical feedback and a more engaging driving experience during spirited road use, track driving and motorsport applications.
The PRO version features an integrated self-centering spring, which keeps the lever reliably positioned in the center even during hard braking and fast cornering. This helps maintain consistent shifting feedback and supports accurate gear selection under demanding conditions.
The shifter also includes an adjustable gear lock-out system for Reverse, 1/2 and 5/6. Screw-type stops allow precise adjustment, while a cable-operated pull-up collar releases the lock-out when required. This helps reduce the risk of accidentally selecting an incorrect gear during aggressive driving.
The Naked series uses an exposed CNC-machined billet aluminium design, focusing on the essential mechanical components and delivering a distinctive motorsport-style appearance.
