This Forge dump valve, or blow off valve, is suitable for 2012 and 2013 BMW 135/235 Turbo engines with pneumatic waste gate, which have electronic dump valves. It is recommended for all vehicles whose turbo pressure has been increased by ECU reprogramming, as well as for vehicles running in hot climates. It's a solution to many of the problems we've identified.
Unfortunately, the malfunction doesn't always trigger the engine light when the valve is held open by turbo pressure, so it's possible to be unaware that you're losing power as a result. This prevents the diaphragm from sealing.

The alternative offered by Forge significantly increases reliability. Their valve is made entirely of aluminum and works with a piston (which doesn't break unlike the diaphragm), it replaces the original component with a piston that works on pressure/vacuum and still retains the standard ECU control over valve activation.
