Forge Motorsport intercooler for Huyndai i20N

The Hyundai i20N is an impressive car with a lot of potential to be fun and fast. However, by examining the original intercooler, the Forge development team could see that it was a weak point for owners looking to boost power or enjoy sporty driving and track days.

So they started with what we learned from FMINT15 for the Hyundai MK3 i30N, as the i20N's 1.6-liter engine shares the same concept as the i30N's 2.0-liter. They hand-built end tanks as a starting point for creating an intercooler mock-up, which helped them understand the design parameters. This mock-up was then scanned in 3D, enabling the development team to refine it and produce the largest core with the most fluid end tank design for the space available.
